THE STEP-BY-STEP DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPHET 'S PRAYER.
The step-by-step description of the complete prayer of the Holy Prophet (SAW) as an imam and with his companions as the congregation following Him.
The Prophet (S.A.W) after the call to stand for salat (Iqaamat), would direct the congregation to straighten the rows, and stand shoulder to shoulder, he would recite the takbiratul-ihraam. The congregation then follows the suit with thier own takbiratul-ihraam. The rest goes as follows:
1. The Prophet (SAW ) then hold his left wrist with his right hand and place them over his chest.
2. The Prophet (SAW ) then recite the opening prayer "Dua Istiftiha" - this is in contrast to the common practice of Maliki School of Thought and negates the Mukhtasar al-Khaleel.
3. The Prophet (SAW ) then recites the Fatiha opening it with Basmala and complete as usual, Stoping momentarily at the end of each verse, he then pauses a little after saying Wala Dhaallin before saying Ameen at which point the whole congregation follows in unison with the mosque echoing.
4. The Prophet ( SAW ) will then remain silent for a while before the recitation of a chosen chapter of the Holy Qur'an, at the end of which he remains silent for a while before bowing.
5. As he prepares to bow (Ruku'u), he will rise up his two hands saying Allah Akbar then goes to the Ruku'u. At this moment all the congregation will remain standing until the Prophet (S.A.W ) is fully in his Ruku'u before they commence there own Ruku'u.
6. The Prophet ( S.A.W ) will remain in Ruku'u for a period of time enough to recite 10 to 15x of "Subhaana Rabi al-azeem".
7. The Prophet ( S.A.W ) will thereafter rise from Ruku'u and in the process raise up his two hands reciting to the hearing of the congregation: "Sami Allaahu Liman Hamidah, Rabbanaa Walaka al-Hamd".
8. The Prophet ( SAW ) then remain standing for a while before going for prostration (Sujuud). In the main-time, all the congregation will remain standing until the Prophet ( SAW ) has his forehead completely on the ground in prostration before they descend for their own Sujuud.
9. The Prophet ( SAW ) will remain in the Sujuud position for a time period enough to recite 10 to 15x of "Subhaana Rabi al-a'alaa wabi hamdihi".
10. The Prophet ( SAW ) then rise from the Sujuud saying "Allahu Akbar" , sitting and reciting a prayer before going for the second Sujuud, where he remains as long as in the first Sujuud.
11. The Prophet ( SAW ) then rise from the second Sujuud, sit back a little and stand-up saying "Allahu-Akbar".
12. In a Salat of four Raka'at, after the Tahiya and Tashahhud in the second Raka'at, he will rise for the third Raka'at saying the Takbir and raising his two hands in that process (as against the Risala of Abu Zaid where he said, he will stand up and say the Takbir). This is the fourth position of raising of the two hands.
Finally this is the comfirmed Prayers of the Holy Prophet (SAW ) without doubt.
